VIEWPOINT 2025: Brian Schmaltz, Chief Operating Officer, NAMICS CorporationPriorities in these markets will center around data security and efficiency, with trends favoring smaller, more energy-efficient electronics and advanced data communication to encrypted data centers. Data acquisition and AI processing will continue to be central to the industry’s trajectory. The U.S. is navigating a complex geopolitical environment in 2025, balancing domestic priorities with international pressures. Efforts to secure semiconductor supply chains have intensified, with significant investments in domestic manufacturing and partnerships to reduce foreign dependence. Additionally, possibly new GOP-led tariffs on certain imports, reminiscent of prior Trump-era trade policies, have added cost pressures and complexities to supply chains, challenging companies with global component dependencies. Policies are increasingly aligned with environmental and sustainability goals, addressing climate change, and supporting green technology. While there is bipartisan support for critical industries like semiconductors, legislative challenges persist in other areas. Rising cybersecurity concerns have also led to stricter regulatory measures focused on data privacy and infrastructure protection. In 2024, the EPA expanded regulations on PFAS, empowering state and local governments to combat these "forever chemicals" and enhance public health protections. NAMICS Corporation remains committed to environmental stewardship, dedicated to producing high-quality, eco-friendly materials that will drive innovation in the five key electronics sectors: Semiconductor, Environment, Energy, Device, and System (SEEDS). We look forward to advancing sustainable practices and innovation into 2025. Brian Schmaltz, Chief Operating Officer NAMICS Corporation http://www.namics-usa.com |
