Has inflation or higher interest rates caused a slowdown in 2023, and are you expecting a rebound in business in 2024?
Though the situation is still quite volatile, I think we have seen the worst of it. The second half of 2023 has definitely been better than the first half. In 2024, I foresee that the industry will continue its slow recovery, and am hopeful that consumer spending will increase as well.

Will you be launching new products or services in 2024?
Yes, our team has been continuously innovating throughout 2023 and plan on continuing to release new paste and flux products in 2024, which will continue to solve our customers' assembly challenges.

Have supply chain shortages caused problems? If so, what has your team done to reduce issues for 2024?
There have definitely been some bumps in the road; however, we are managing well and have been able to avoid serious problems for our customers. With such volatility, it's very difficult to forecast reliably. To alleviate issues, we have been working closely with our vendors, keeping just enough material on-hand, and maintaining close communication between departments, from customer facing teams to internal operations teams.

With hiring still a challenge, what can the industry do to help develop skilled workers?
There should be closer collaboration between the industry and academia, to make sure what is being taught can be applied effectively. Indium Corporation has one of the best internship programs in the industry and we have established an extensive curriculum to share as much as we can while they are onboard. Involvement in organizations like IEEE has also helped us to connect with professors and support them in designing courses that are relevant to the industry.
