Marvin Test Solutions looks forward to 2021 as a year of growth for our 5G mmWave semiconductor test line, after a solid start in 2020.

The semiconductor world continues to evolve at a rapid pace. In 2020, the promise of 5G technology began to come into focus, with the first installations of the vast infrastructure that will support applications such as autonomous driving and high data speeds with low latency and massive network capacity. While these applications are not yet fully realized, their promise is unmistakable.

As the technology develops, engineers are challenged with the design and development of the devices that make it possible, as well as the production test capabilities that ensure performance and reliability of fielded devices. 5G technology will drive specific customer test requirements, for example:
• Vector measurements vs. scalar measurement technology
• 0-44 GHz frequency range with no frequency gaps due to mmWave frequency up-convert
• Sufficient mmWave ports for single site or multisite testing with minimal switching
• Compatible to mmWave engineering solutions in use today to accelerate time to market
• Full production support of commercial handlers, probers and temperature testing

Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) continues to integrate the flexibility, scalability and functionality of modular instrument technology with the performance RF/mmWave capability of our RF partners, Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz, to provide test solutions that combine laboratory precision with production efficiency. Our TS-960e-5G Series mmWave test systems deliver proven performance up to 44 GHz, with the unrivaled long-term support our customers have come to rely upon.
