VIEWPOINT 2022: Glyn Davies, President, Materials and Structural Analysis Division, Thermo Fisher Scientific
Looking back over the last two years, the importance of semiconductors in commercial and consumer applications can't be understated. Integrated Circuits kept people working, learning and connected, and they played a key role in unlocking the virus' structure and accelerating vaccine development. Going forward, we expect the demand for semiconductors to continue its exponential growth as new innovations take hold, and applications are developed that require semiconductors that deliver higher performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. Our customers are making significant investments in Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions to identify failures, increase manufacturing yields and accelerate product development. As we enter 2022, we look forward to working with them to deliver failure analysis, metrology and characterization solutions that support their manufacturing and development efforts for the next wave of semiconductor innovations.
