ASYS Solar to exhibit XS2 Screen Printer at Intersolar

Booth# 9228

Atlanta, GA – ASYS will exhibit the highly accurate and fast XS2 Screen Printer for printing solar cells, wafers or thin ceramic substrates, which is equipped with a patented optical edge recognition system, at the upcoming Intersolar show in San Francisco. The show will be held from July 13-15, 2010 at the Moscone Center.

The XS2 Screen Printer detects the edge of the substrate from below with 3 (optionally 5) in-table integrated CCD cameras and automatically aligns the screen with the substrate. The screen is set up in seconds, and no test prints are necessary. The printer has a user-friendly, self-explanatory user interface, which covers the entire machine status and registers errors in plain text. Coupled with the ASYS VISION module, the XS2 provides the required repeatability for double print and selective emitter technologies, making it a future ready investment.

ASYS is one of the leading equipment suppliers to the photovoltaic industry, specializing in the metallization process of solar cells. ASYS manufactures single, dual and triple lane production lines with a throughput of up to 4,600 cells/hour. The product portfolio includes loading/unloading units, micro crack inspection, screen printers, post print inspection, dryers, laser edge isolation, cell testers and sorters. With the lowest breakage rate in the industry, and more than 7.5 GW of installed production capacity worldwide, ASYS is the preferred partner for cell manufacturers.
