Belgium's Leading Collective Research Center for High Technology will use the System for projects with Member Companies throughout Europe

Albuquerque, New Mexico: Optomec announced today that Sirris, the leading high technology collective research center in Belgium, has purchased an Aerosol Jet deposition system. The system, which has been installed at Sirris' location in the Liege Science Park, will be used primarily for the development of printed RFID antennae, micro capacitors, micro systems, packaging, memory and other emerging printed electronics applications. The Liege Science Park is within close proximity to a large number of high tech companies, including Microsys, the leader of the European government FEDER project that provided funding for the Aerosol Jet system.

Sirris' mission is to increase the international competitive position of its member companies through technological innovation. The organization specializes in engineering advisory, rapid prototyping, processing technologies and nanomaterials development services, in addition to conducting applied research and development activities in close cooperation with industry. The Aerosol Jet system is ideally suited to be part of the Sirris facility for a number or reasons, including: its fine line (<10 micron), maskless deposition capability, the ability to successfully deposit a wide range of conductive and nonconductive materials, and the ability to print on 3-D substrates.
