Torrey Hills President Ken Kuang Receives President’s Award at IMAPS

(SAN DIEGO, CA) – Ken Kuang, President and Founder of Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC today accepted the 2008 President’s Award at the IMAPS (The International Microelectronics and Packaging Society) 41st International Symposium on Microelectronics held recently at Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence, Rhode Island. Ken Kuang received the honor from IMAPS for envisioning the possibility of a joint Advanced Technology Workshop with the San Diego Chapter on RF and Microwave Packaging and for having the persistence of vision to execute a unique plan successfully.

Kuang has been a member of IMAPS since 1997. He started with the San Diego Chapter as Membership Chair, later becoming Treasurer, Vice Chair, Chapter President and IMAPS National VP of Membership. Kuang is recognized as an industry expert in material science, presenting many times in packaging conferences and winning the Best Session Paper in IMAPS 2000 and Best Symposium Paper in ICEPT 2003. Kuang successfully chaired IMAPS Advanced Technology Workshop on RF and Microwave Packaging held in San Diego, CA, September, 2008. His presentation, CuW and CuMo Heat Sinks in Cryogenics Conditions, also received excellent feedback and aroused wide interest among attendees at that workshop.

"I am honored to be recognized with such a prestigious award,” says Kuang. “I would like to thank everyone at IMAPS for providing such a wonderful platform to meet and exchange ideas and information with the best and brightest professionals in the international microelectronics and packaging industry."
