In response to the robust growth of 2017, many companies have increased their headcount to deal with the increase in business. Many of these new individuals come to the industry without a deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.

While some universities continue to offer advanced courses that focus on semiconductor topics, they are becoming more limited as they move into other areas where the growth is perceived to be better, such as AI, Security, Biomedical Engineering, etc. This leaves a gap for many engineers coming into our industry.
